Morning Men’s Walk along Durban Beachfront

A group of men from about six churches in the greater Durban area join together for a monthly walk along the Durban beachfront.

The walk is one of the regional activities of the Church Men’s Society, an organisation within the Anglican Church of Southern Africa.  Apart from the obvious health benefits, the walk provides an opportunity for prayer and fellowship.

The most recent walk, attended by about 25 men, took place on Saturday morning 18 January from 5.30am. As well as enjoying the beautiful Durban beachfront and sharing in a healthy breakfast – which included cereals and fruit – those on this walk carried a message.

One of the churches had made a banner with the words “In Solidarity Against Abuse”.  It was pleasing to see the positive reaction from many of the other early morning walkers, runers and bikers to this message.
