Fundraiser for Kerr House, Saturday 2 April 15.00, St Cyprians RSVP 031 205 3710

A final reminder to support this event and to tell your friends about it. Melvin Peters and the St Cyprians organist, AJ Bethke,, will no doubt produce an excellent hour of organ music. As there is no fixed entrance fee it should be accessible to everyone. There will be eats afterwards. Refreshments will be on sale. By supporting this shelter for women who have been abused we support the ongoing struggle against Gender Based Violence.

Ethekwini Archdeaconry Council 24 March

St Paul’s was well represented at this regional meeting which includes the 11 other parishes within our archdeaconry. The Archdeacon again encouraged giving to the Bishop’s appeal to assist with the deficit in the diocesan budget for this year.

Elections were done to elect a lay and a youth rep to Diocesan Council. Siyabonga Mkhize and Raphael Mdepha of St Pauls were elected. The next Diocesan Council meeting (the body that meets between synods) will be held on Saturday 21 May.

A motion to endorse the document, “Cry for Hope”, in support of the struggle of Palestinians was presented and the encouragement was given to discuss it at a local level so that when it is presented to Synod there is a better understanding of it.

The Cry for Hope and related material may be accessed here.
