Corpus Christi Service 16 June

This combined archdeaconry service will take place on Thursday 16 June at 11.00am. Please note the new time. It has been moved from the evening to the morning. The venue is still St John the Divine, Clark Road.


We celebrate a number of birthdays in our parish this week. There are three “special” ones that we are aware of: Today (14th) Joy Dennis turns 90; on
Thursday Gifford Sparks turns 80 and on Saturday Emmie de Billiot turns 104.

Funerals at St Pauls

We had two funerals at our church last week:
On Thursday was the funeral of one of our members Ian McDonald and on Saturday was the funeral of Carole Spies’ daughter, Alison.

The interment of ashes of Tyronne and Clerrade Sigamoney will take place this Saturday 18 June at Christ Church, Overport.
We pray for these families.

Marriage 26 June

One of our members, Ms Mendi Kubheka, is getting married on 26 June. We wish her and Mr Cosmos Mteshane well.

Fathers’ Day and Farewell for Revd Sabelo Mthimkhulu

This will take place on Sunday19 June.

Birth of Elihlithemba Nceba Mathe

Former Assistant Priest of St Pauls, Revd Mduduzi Mathe, and his wife, Phumla, welcomed their son on 3 June. Congratulations!

Confirmation 2023

Those who would like to join the confirmation preparation classes must register by the end of June. The diocesan regulations prescribe that candidates must at least turn 16 years of age in the year in which they will be confirmed (2023). Application forms are available at church, from the office and on our website

St Paul’s Fete – 29 October

Parishioners interested to assist should contact Siyabonga Mkhize or Remona McKenzie. Donations towards the fete are most welcome and may be brought to church services or the office.

St Cyprians Fete 25 June

This fete will take place on Saturday 25 June from 8.00 to 15.00. While raising funds for St Cyprian’s church the fete also raises funds for Kerr House, a ministry for “women in crisis” that we as St Paul’s shares with St Cyprians.

St Bernard Mizeki – 18 June

A message from the chaplain Revd Ishmael Sithole: The Diocesan enrolment for this Guild will take place on 18 June at St Mary’s Hammarsdale at 12.00 for anyone interested in attending.

Copies for July/August are available at the church and church office.


We continue to try to communicate with the parish through the various means we have email, WhatsApp, and other social media, website, notice boards, announcements etc so as to keep us up to date with what is happening in our community.

Please keep the parish office informed of any change of your contact details. We are also trying to ensure that those who are attending services regularly and see themselves as members of St Pauls fill in membership forms.
